The Village of Groton was recently selected as the winner of $4.5 million in funding through the NY Forward program. The first series of public workshops will be held on June 10th and 11th at the Groton Junior/Senior High School. The purpose of these public workshops is to gather first-hand knowledge and recommendations from the community that will guide the preparation Groton’s NY Forward Strategic Investment Plan.

June 10th will feature an open-house public workshop from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Groton Junior/Senior High School cafeteria. This open-house event will introduce the NY Forward process and offer multiple opportunities for public input on key community planning elements. Please feel free to stop by anytime and provide your feedback.

On June 11th, we will be hosting interactive planning activities across two separate sessions – from 12 to 2 PM and 4 PM to 6 PM at the Groton Junior/Senior High School STEAM learning center. Each session will offer multiple activities, including analyses of opportunities and challenges in Groton, advancement of public projects with real-time urban design sketches, and a downtown walking tour.
