Student Officers for Tri-M and Chorus are Senior High leaders in the music department. Officers assist your music teachers with daily tasks and concert logistics, volunteer at events, and act as role models for all music students. These are elected positions. Student leaders are Junior High students on track to join Tri-M in Senior High. Student leaders assist music teachers in daily tasks including taking attendance, numbering music, handing out worksheets, etc. They positively impact their peers, acting as role models that encourage others to be on task and respectful. An 8th grader will be President of 7/8th Band/Chorus by election.

Officer Positions

President of Tri-M:
Runs Tri-M meetings once every other week
Creates and adjusts agenda for meetings
Contacts Tri-M members through Remind
Delegates tasks to Tri-M members
Reminds Tri-M members of upcoming events and responsibilities
Presents fundraising proposals to Student Council

Vice President of Tri-M:
Performs President's duties in their absence
Organizes Tri-M outreach and recruitment
Volunteers at all JH events
Designs & prints posters for Tri-M fundraisers and events

Secretary of Tri-M:
Writes minutes of Tri-M meetings and emails them to teachers & members
Organizes online and physical Tri-M materials
Creates facebook events, etc. for Tri-M events
Presents fundraising proposals to Student Council

Treasurer of Tri-M:
Maintains the Tri-M accounts & ledger
Requests checks, donations, etc. from the district office
Develops Tri-M budget and shares it with Tri-M officers
Deposits fundraising/event income in Tri-M account
In charge of cash box

Historian of Tri-M:
Takes pictures at all music department events (or finds a replacement photographer in advance)
Uploads pictures to the Groton Music website
Maintains the Groton Music website with shout outs, events, news, photos, etc.
Maintains a positive presence on Groton Music social media (facebook, snapchat, etc.)

President of Chorus:
Takes attendance during chorus rehearsals
Runs officer meetings once every other week

Contacts chorus members through Remind
Delegates tasks to chorus officers
Reminds chorus members of upcoming events and responsibilities

Vice President of Chorus:
Performs President's duties in their absence
Organizes chorus outreach and recruitment
Volunteers at all JH events
Designs & prints posters for chorus fundraisers and events

Secretary of Chorus:
Writes minutes of officer meetings and emails them to teachers & members
Organizes online and physical chorus materials
Creates facebook events, etc. for chorus events
Numbers sheet music for SH Chorus

Historian of Chorus:
Takes pictures at all music department events (or finds a replacement photographer in advance)
Uploads pictures to the Groton Music website
Maintains the Groton Music website with shout outs, events, news, photos, etc.
Maintains a positive presence on Groton Music social media (facebook, snapchat, etc.)
Potentially takes photos at NYSSMA events (AAS, AC, Solo Festival, etc.)

President of JH Chorus:
Takes attendance
Attends one Officer meeting per month
Updates chorus members on upcoming events
Contacts chorus members through Remind
Delegates tasks to student leaders

Student Leaders:
Take attendance in President's absence
Assist with handing out papers
Number sheet music for JH Chorus
Help set up risers, chairs, etc. as needed
Can be trusted to run errands or perform tasks as needed
